One of the only “Natural Resources” in the composites industry, Kiln-Dried / End-Grained Balsa, because of its exceptional strength to weight properties, is also one of the oldest and most reliable products in sandwich fabrication.  The mini-honeycomb structure, engineered by alligning the balsa in the end-grain position, explains the why this product exhibits wonderful stiffness and impact resistance.

X-Cell Composites has designed Duro Balsa, “Rugged, Durable Balsa”, to take full advantage of this unique wood structure.  Balsa trees are harvested naturally in the forest and the planted farms of Ecuador so X-Cell Composites opened it’s factory just outside of Guayaquil, Ecuador.  On location, we process the raw balsa timbers into useable sheet stock.  By operating our own production facility we assure quality by:

Duro-Balsa PC…  X-Cell Composites has also designed a fine sanded/pre-coated version to minimize resin absortion during lamination resulting in even lighter laminates!
